There is a very broad conference on "Governance meets Law" next week at the Kasteel, at which I will give my first real presentation. The problem is that all of the people attending will know about law, will know something about European Law and will know a little bit about right of standing within European Law. So the abstract for the paper (the presentation is basically an elevator pitch) has to be simple, interesting and clear for this crowd of people.
I have a blog, that I never put to use for the forces of good. There is such a wonderful option to publish from your Google Docs account and there is this large and potentially clever interwebz out there. Clearly a starting academic should be able to make good use of these elements.
Therefor I ask of you, dear reader, could you please read these four pages of text and tell me if it is at all readable. Please also notify me of mistakes, both factual and grammatical, or maybe things you like. Remember, it is an abstract and therefor not annotated and I made it a bit subjective in tone as to fit with the elevator-presentation-pitch-contest. You can leave your remarks in the comments below this post, or on twitter to @Maupertus. If this pitch works and I can write the paper, I'll try and distribute a draft on here as well.
If this is a horrible idea, a terrible mistake and doesn't work at all, I'll never bother you again. All interesting and useful feedback will be awarded with a beer. Of course, the content of the document above is mine and mine alone and can only be used or reproduced if you make clear mention of me as its author.
